RSS growing pains

As liberating as RSS can be for readers and publishers, incorporating it into your daily routine isn't as easy as it looks, and may take years before mainstream users adopt it, if ever.

Yeah, the more bold, the more scary the reading list. I tend to deal with that by ignoring the vast majority of my list, and trying to keep up with only 5-10 blogs. The rest I look at periodically.

Good points and why I enjoy reading RSS in Safari. It's browser based, more intuitive and not a 3-pane email metaphor. When IE 7 comes out, it'll boost RSS becaue it works just like Safari does, rendered right in the browser. I think Firefoxs definition of "live bookmarking" makes the most sense. A while ago, I wrote a post titled, "fear of bold," where my interest in RSS was quickly deflated by 3K rss articles all alerted by bold, sitting waiting for me to read them.
