For the longest time, I’ve never really understood the differences that prevent TV channels from streaming their broadcasts live online.
Actually, I still don’t. It’s basically the exact same as normal cable broadcasts.
Maybe that’s why big media companies like Disney are finally getting it. With Mobile ESPN and now their announcement that disneychannel.com will start streaming selected shows on-demand.
I hope more media companies start to realize that they can increase their viewership by offering free, ad-supported hi-definition content online.
