If you think any of this gibberish looks interesting, you should poke around and subscribe to my RSS feed to keep up with new content.
As part of Microsoft’s Windows Live push on the web, they’re apparently planning to offer a service called Live Drive that lets people store files on a virtual web drive for access on any device.
Now I don’t use a mac so I don’t really know, but isn’t that was .mac is? is .mac free or is that a type of subscription thing you need to have?

.Mac has offsite storage, as well as other features. It’s about $90 -100 annually. Given MS security history, I wouldn’t story email there, much less something sensitive. But that’s just me…

Haha, my guess is that security will be less of an issue than usability (after all, it’s the OS that has security issues, not their web services). The problem, as always, when serving PC services is that you have to account for the ridiculously wide range of available software and hardware, and try to make it compatible with everything.
I imagine a service that lets me “share” things between my computers would have to include services like synchronizing my outlook, address book, and calendar to make it worth my while. And I’ve alraedy got gmail for two of those things, (plus storage with Gdrive), so I dunno.
It’ll be a tough space to move into.
.Mac seems like it’s pretty cool, but I feel like that’s a fair bit to pay for e-mail, synching, and storage. Does it do anything else that’s really cool?
