If you think any of this gibberish looks interesting, you should poke around and subscribe to my RSS feed to keep up with new content.

Historically, Jason-Preston.com has been the home to my various writing and video projects. As a film minor at oxy and an actor by hobby, DV has been just about the best thing that ever happened to me. I’ll be putting the various shorts that I make for class or whatever reason up on this page as they become available to you.

I will also keep this page as a running list of written work that seems longer or more content-like. Or, in some cases, written work that never showed up on the main page at all.

Video

  • Project Free - The first project I did as a film student at Oxy. It’s…appropriate.
  • Mario Kart - My “doc” short that I made for my only film class so far. It’s a short mockumentary on Mario Kart. In its current .zip format, the file is about 27 megabytes.
  • Anus of the Sun - The original home video parody, it’s…well, you’ll have to watch it.
  • Sphincter Del Sol - This is the sequel to the above analog project called Anus of the Sun. Sphincter parodies the ridiculous and often melodramatically pointless nature of symbolism in avante garde films. It appears we have a motif of “falling.”

Written

  • Interview with Manifesto Games - an Interview I conducted almost a year ago for Flicker Gaming back when it was an e-zine. Still an interesting piece.
  • Spaceman Dave - This, as is explained through the link, is my final script from my screenplay class. It’s short, funny, and in PDF format. Enjoy.
  • How to use the new web - The internet is a constantly changing place. Now, more than ever before, it’s a platform of integrated services that allow you to do cool things. This is my guide on how I use it and what I would recommend (Jan 2006).
  • What is Film Noir? - This is the 3,000 word (warning: academic!) essay I wrote for my noir class abroad in the UK. It’s a pretty decent piece of work in .pdf format if you’re interested.
  • Bathroom Graffiti Poet Emerges from Stall - This is an old classic tabloid entry by Jacob Brown.
  • The Great Media Revolution - My article on why I think big media is here to stay; blogs (though I love them) will never replace the WSJ.
