Long Form Blogging
If you think any of this gibberish looks interesting, you should poke around and subscribe to my RSS feed to keep up with new content.
“Surely,” you are thinking, “having a page for ‘writing’ on a blog is a bit like having a ‘water’ section in a pool.”
To a certain extent, you are right. Several of the links below do in fact point to posts on this blog.
This page is really a collection of pieces I have written either here or elsewhere that I am proud of or that hold some sentimental value to me.
I also have no intention of limiting myself to blogging. One of the goals on my 101 list is to publish a short story, and I have no doubt that when I do, that will earn a link on this page as well.
- Interview with Manifesto Games - an Interview I conducted almost a year ago for Flicker Gaming back when it was an e-zine. Still an interesting piece.
- Spaceman Dave - This, as is explained through the link, is my final script from my screenplay class. It’s short, funny, and in PDF format. Enjoy.
- How to use the new web - The internet is a constantly changing place. Now, more than ever before, it’s a platform of integrated services that allow you to do cool things. This is my guide on how I use it and what I would recommend (Jan 2006).
- What is Film Noir? - This is the 3,000 word (warning: academic!) essay I wrote for my noir class abroad in the UK. It’s a pretty decent piece of work in .pdf format if you’re interested.
- Bathroom Graffiti Poet Emerges from Stall - This is an old classic tabloid entry by Jacob Brown.
- The Great Media Revolution - My article on why I think big media is here to stay; blogs (though I love them) will never replace the WSJ.
- Ads alone won’t save newspapers - More of a diagnosis than a prognosis or a treatment, but an interesting read nonetheless.
